There has been a lot to celebrate this year for Lucy & Tom, having recently married at Lucy's beautiful family home in Derbyshire and returned from an unforgettable safari honeymoon in South Africa, they were thrilled to return home to find 'Affairs of the Heart' installed in their dining room, we couldn't help but open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate.

The couple had got in touch, having decided they would like to buy an artwork to mark such a wonderful year for them. It didn't take very long as they were instantly drawn to the work of Oliver Hilton, the only difficulty arose in choosing a single painting!

In a twist of fate, they decided on a beautiful and enchanting abstract work titled 'Affairs of the Heart', very fitting indeed. The oil & mixed media on canvas painting really enlivens their open-plan dining/living room and sets off the subtle and serene atmosphere that the couple have created throughout this space, which is filled with warm neutrals, natural materials and soft textures. The artwork anchors their dining space and is reflected in the adjoining living area by a wood burning stove and tall mirror. The couple had initial ideas about what they wanted to achieve through finding and installing an artwork in this space; it was a joy to work with them to make their vision come alive.

I find myself pausing in the doorway every time I pass through this room, the painting is just captivating and so calming.
